My journey into playing music as a Bard in Final Fantasy XIV began with the inspiration I drew from watching a player, Link Snicket, who performs regularly in Ul’dah. They're a celebrated figure in the city, known for their mesmerizing bardic performances that drew crowds and created a vibrant, lively atmosphere. The way Link’s music seemed to breathe life into the streets of Ul’dah was captivating. Intrigued by this blend of artistry and community engagement, I felt a strong urge to explore the Bard class myself. Embracing the role, I was eager to replicate the sense of wonder and enjoyment that Link had so effortlessly shared with the community, and I dove into mastering the nuances of bardic music with great enthusiasm
As I settled into my new role as a Bard, I stumbled upon another fascinating feature: Gposing. This tool allowed players to capture stunning screenshots of their characters and the game world, using a variety of in-game photo-editing options alongside other tools of the trade. The ability to adjust camera angles, manipulate lighting, and position characters opened up a new world of creative possibilities. Inspired by the beautiful screenshots of other players' creative works amongst the community, I began experimenting with Gposing to create my own artistic visual narratives. It was thrilling to see how Gposing could transform ordinary moments into strikingly beautiful images, allowing me to capture the essence of my adventures in a unique and personal way.
This newfound passion for Gposing naturally led me to explore further customization, particularly in developing my own textures for use in this feature. I was excited by the challenge of designing custom textures that could enhance the visual appeal of my screenshots and add a personal touch to my captures. This creative endeavor soon expanded into plans for creating my own Reshade presets, aiming to refine and elevate the aesthetic quality of my Gpose images even further. The journey from being inspired by Link’s performances in Ul’dah to discovering and mastering Gposing, and eventually working on custom textures and Reshade presets, has been an enriching and fulfilling exploration of artistic expression within Final Fantasy XIV.
